Craig, we do need a theater thread!
    How's that?

Are you trying to invite me to the relaxation room?

I had something a little different in mind...

Hope you and Andy Murray have fun with that

    Anyway, this is about theater.

I haven't been to the theater in almost a year and I feel SO guilty

Best films about theater are All About Eve and Bullets Over Broadway.

It only seems appropriate that we begin the theater thread talking about films since we just left the film thread talking about theater.

Rent "A Midwinter's Tale". It's not "All About Eve", but it has it all over "Bullets".
With Lucas Pouille at Indian Wells (2018)

I saw "Dirty Rotten Scoundrels (sp?)" in a theatre in Texas this summer, and loved it.

I loved "Legally Blonde: the musical" on MTV.

My all time favorite is "CATS."

I always knew I liked you, Charlie.

Anything that opens the show with a number titled "Oh My God, You Guys!" AND includes songs about both the "Bend & Snap" and "Gay or European?" holds a special place in my heart.

You should see "Xanadu. On Broadway. Seriously." if you get a chance in NY. I forced Moose to watch it last year, and he loved it, even though he'd never even seen the movie. eviljuju and juju jr. (who knew the movie well) LOVED it, as did I.

I love the musical more than the actual movie.

I haven't seen Xanadu. I hope I get to someday. I'd pretty much watch any musical.

    Re: The Broadway/Theater Thread

Since we're talking musicals, here's my top 5 list. And I'm talking musicals, not movies they were made into.

    1. Cabaret
    2. Chicago
    3. Yunona i Avos' (it's Russian and it's the best performance I've ever seen)
    4. Jesus Christ Superstar
    5. Rent

I guess three of them are rock-operas, not musicals, technically

    My favorite musicals:

    1. Jelly's Last Jam
    2. Pippin
    3. Stomp
    4. Dreamgirls
    5. Chicago
    6. A Chorus Line
    7. Ain't Misbehavin
    8. Jesus Christ Superstar

I never thought of Stomp as a musical

A Chorus Line is up at the top on my list of things I need to see. I love every song from it that I know.

I'm thinking of moving it up to 3.
