The Mets are paying Bobby Bonilla his ninth installment of $1,119,248.20 today. So far, the team has paid him $10 million for deferring his 2000 salary of $5.9 million with 8 percent interest. He has 16 more payments left.

Who is the agent who struck the deferred salary deal for Bobby Bonilla? His name is Dennis Gilbert. He retired 17 years ago and, for years, has had the best seats at Dodgers games.

My random fun stat I saw of the day:

Bruce Bochy has managed from 1995-2019.

His current managerial record is 1995-2019.

I haven't watched any basball this year until now. And I have to say the playoffs have been very good. I don't know who was favored in any series.

The Dodgers were probably the big NL favorite...other than that it's gone mostly to form. Whoever wins the AL is probably going to be the favorite for the World Series now. But could this finally be the Nats year?

And Los Angeles would've won had their manager been able to manage a bullpen in the postseason. I just don't know what happens to him.

I'll be rooting for the Nats.
    Oh Grigor. You silly man.

No jinx but I'm kind of impressed with the Nats too.

    Me, too.

I think a large part of the country is liking them.

I admit before the Dodgers series, I really didn't know that much about the team outside of Scherzer and Strasburg. Now I know their whole line-up, in order.

Everyone is trying to pull off the next "Bumgarner" relief appearance I think.

I too am rooting for the Nationals, don't believe they have ever won or even been to a WS -- but I expect the Astros will take it.

Still think so after last night? Quite the late charge by the Nats. Stat showed in 22 of 25 world series where the home team lost first two games they went on to lose the series (in the 2-3-2 format.) Washington really will want to finish it at home though.
