I hate to admit it, but ARod is good in the studio and in the booth.

You think so? I was thinking during the pregame how bad I thought he was. LOL.

I also don't care for Harold Reynolds in the booth. He's like Phil Simms, he won't stop talking.

Reynolds really takes the time to learn about the non-traditional baseball clubs. As a fan of one of those clubs, I appreciate that.

I found Reynolds too chatty at first too but he's good.

Boy, when it rains it pours. You gotta think New York just wants to get the hell off the field and onto the airplane.

This was the first time I had a chance to watch him work with no distractions. Awesome.

The Mets were flat. Let's hope they've figured things out or we're looking at a sweep.

I'm kinda rooting for KC. Only because they were so close last year. Plus I'm a Dodger fan and The Mets are from New York which they share with the Yankees, and, you know... Dodgers/Yankees.

Royals upset at Syndergaard’s first pitch

    October 31st, 2015 12:20 am
The Royals are upset with Noah Syndergaard after his first pitch of Game 3 was up and in at Alcides Escobar.

Syndergaard’s first pitch of the game was a 98 mph fastball up near Escobar’s head, knocking him to the ground in the first inning. Kansas City’s Mike Moustakas was seen shouting expletives at Syndergaard from the dugout after the pitch.

“Everyone is upset about it,” Eric Hosmer said (Oct. 31). “You don’t want a teammate have his head thrown at, so everybody is upset. I thought it was weak. Very weak. I thought it was unprofessional.”

Syndergaard said he didn’t intend to hit or injure anyone; rather, he just wanted to send a message.

“I just didn’t want him getting too comfortable,” Syndergaard said. “If they have a problem with me throwing inside, they can meet me 60 feet, 6 inches away.”

Syndrgaard was asked on Thursday how he planned to approach Escobar, who had swung at the first pitch of his at-bats eight of 12 times in the series.

“I have a few tricks up my sleeve that I’ll be able to break out tomorrow night,” Syndergaard said. “I’m looking forward to it.”

After the game, Syndergaard told reporters he suggested to catcher Travis d’Arnaud going high and tight for the first pitch and then curveball on the second.

“I feel like it really made a statement to start the game off,” Syndergaard said.

Syndergaard told SNY’s Steve Gelbs: “That’s my plate out there, not theirs.”

Obviously, it made the Royals uncomfortable, which is exactly what Syndergaard wanted to do. If this is something they’re still chirping about four hours later, it had a lasting effect on them. As Jared Diamond of the WSJ pointed out on Twitter, if it got the Royals this riled up, maybe Steven Matz should throw one inside on Saturday. Also, look for a Mets player to get plunked at some point before this series is over.

We've been rooting for KC in the series, but seeing these Mets fans in the stands is heartbreaking.

They went from waving those towels to using them to wipe their tears.

Congratulations, Kansas City! Classy group of guys.
