Re: The Slide into Paris Discussion
I picked perfect timing to finally substitute Canas for Chela.

Canas might still do something in Hamburg
I hope adding Acasuso will work out. Too bad there are so many others who have Starace...

I was in the same predicament as bea, tocwhom your post was directed. I had lamented not being able to switch Novak out and put Federer in. But thanks to Mr. Filippo Volandri, I think it's good to have Novak this week, especially if Rafa can't play today. I can almost taste the Moretti!!

Re: The Slide into Paris Discussion
how on earth did Chela win and Fed lose? I thought I was totally screwed this week with having only Chela on the upper half of the draw. Djokovic/Chela final, anyone?

They're both on my team! With a little Nadal insurance just in case...

I'm pretty excited Federer didn't win because I don't actually have him on my team. Unfortunately though, I don't have much left... Nadal, Djokovic... I don't think anyone else... hmm... oh well.

I can't explain the Roger loss, but I have some ideas about why Chela won.
Chela played on his favorite surface and Roddick's least favorite surface.
Chela moves much better on clay than Roddick.
Roddick's power is neutralized on clay.
Chela has played a full claycourt season (and has had solid results).
Roddick hasn't played on clay since Davis Cup in February I believe.

Re: The Slide into Paris Discussion
Last weekend I was agonizing over not being able to switch Djokovic for Federer, and saying that Chela was wasting space on my team.
LOL. I never would have thought that Djokovic would make it further than Federer and that Chela would make the QFs. So, at least my team hasn't completely flatlined!
