    Nadal needs a rival!

Â* Â* Â* Â*Well Nadal is crusing through an easy 3rd set vs Agassi, no surprise, the only surprise is the miracle Agassi was able to even get a set, but in the end a very easy victory for Nadal as usual. Â* Â*There really is nobody to challenge Nadal, outside of grass right now. Â* Federer was very lucky not to lose 6-2, 7-6, 6-2 the last time they played on hard courts, and lost 6-3, 6-3 the time before that, so he is not any challenge to Nadal, Hewitt and Roddick probably cant when you see how Federer kicks them around, Agassi obviously cant, Safin is too inconsistent. Â* Whenever Nadal enters a tournament on anything but grass now you know he will win it, is makes for a boring event in terms of suspense; he needs somebody to emerge to challenge him so it isnt so certain and predictable, Roger, Lleyton, Andy, somebody.

Â*Â* Â*They might as well give him the trophy before the tournament even starts in any non-grass events, lets face it. Â* Â*Atleast on the WTA tour there are enough people closely matched you dont know who is going to win each event, well atleast now, it was different a few years ago with Serena so dominant, but that time seems past for now anyway.

I am hoping no one will, I would love to see that final. I hope Nadal meets up with Roddicks and smacks him back to the 1950's.
    Good Luck on the Court!!!

Yes. I want a Federer/Safin semi and a Nadal/Roddick semi at the US Open. Then, after two five setters in the semis, a Federer/Nadal final.

Â* Â* Â* Â* I believe the results of the U.S open will tell us alot about the quality of the mens game, lets put it that way.

Naw it would be super boring, look at their last two meetings on hard courts, Nadal winning 6-3, 6-3; and Nadal leading 6-2, 7-6, 5-2 in the Nasdaq final. I guess if you are enjoy a boring matchup like the Federer-Hewitt matchup it is huge however.

    I think Nadal found a rival.......in Berdych!!!!

    Another teeny bopper! [smiley=overhead_clap.gif]
I am a citizen of the most beautiful nation on earth. A nation whose laws are harsh yet simple, a nation that never cheats, which is immense and without borders, where life is lived in the present. In this limitless nation, this nation of wind, light, and peace, there is no other ruler besides the sea.

And there you go. We'll be hearing more from Berdych, but doubt he will rise to the same level as Nadal.

I never said the Federer-Hewitt matchup was a good matchup, I said if you like a boring matchup, like the Hewitt-Federer matchup; thus implying it is a very boring matchup.

As for Nadal-Federer, Nadal won 6-3, 6-3 the first time and was unlucky not to lose 6-2, 7-6, 6-2 the second time; the fact Roger got into the 2nd match was very unlikely and alot of luck. Their matchup is equally boring and uncompetitive.

I've seen Nadal play several times and find him to be very non-boring to watch. Then if you match him up with the magician ... um, not boring kittens ... just the best possible tennis on the planet!

I don't think 1 match will mater much, as far as I see it it the only reel rival Nadal has right now is federer .

    Re: Nadal needs a rival!

Blake is just having a dream tournament. He is a great player and it is good to have him back playing well, after all his turmoil. I dont think you will be saying more wins over Nadal from him in the future though. Federer is not even a real rival to Nadal yet, until he can actually win a match where he wasnt down 6-2, 7-6, 4-2 I believe it was before Nadal choked, that is his best showing in 3 matches, not much of a rivalry IMO.
