Pospisil qualifies and, naturally, gets placed into the draw to face Felix in the first round. It's nice to have multiple Canadians showing up in tournaments now, but they really get drawn against each other far too often.

Well, the more Canadians you have in the draw, the higher the chances of them drawing each other The price of success!

Fans of Venus and Serena know the feeling well.

Shapo out in straight sets To world 153 Rodionov, that’s one less Canadian in the draw. Do we blame burnout for this unexpected loss (this is three straight losses now) or do we blame this thread?

^ Yes, it does seem to happen more often than it should, based on the numbers.
I suppose the optimistic view would be that when it occurs, there is an absolute guarantee that one Canadian will advance to the next round...

^ The problem is that it happens A) more often than it should, based on numbers, and B) too often in early rounds.

Pospisil is just a money greedy turd. If he wants to make more money, he should get better at tennis rather than just making trouble for the tour.

I'm ok with him losing often.

Based on my observation of, and interaction with, Vasek, he is actually a genuinely nice, very down to Earth person. And he’s likely among the most thoughtful and intelligent players on the men’s tour.

Side thought (I am fairly indifferent to Pospisil).
What happens when you really cannot get better at the sport? When you really have reached your max? Not everybody can reach #1 simply on hard work. What do you do when you have worked every ounce of (still considerable) talent out of you via hard work, and are still stuck at # 93, one spot removed from direct entry to the slams?
I am watching Dimitrov so the thought comes to mind.
