    The left-thigh wraps are connected to the serve, loading up the front leg (for a righty). Much more serving in competition - and more intensely - than in practice. That has taken its toll, apparently. I don't know if that was Pliskova's injury or not. WTA website suggested it was the thigh right after the retirement but might have updated their info with an official statement by now.

    I don't think of her as someone often injured. Maybe because her game is pretty minimal.
