    I am going to add two players who should have been on this list somewhere: Hewitt and Kucera.

    Hewitt's return was awesome, which is one reason he won so many title on grass. He also had a much better read on Sampras's serve than Agassi did. Although his return was not aggressive, other than Djokovic and Murray, I'd wager Hewitt returned a higher percentage of serves in play than anyone in modern history.

    Kucera I measure through the prism of Agassi, my all-time favorite player. Kucera had an unlikely winning record against Agassi, 4-3, because he destroyed his second serve like no one else, taking it early and redirecting it out of his strike zone. He also beat Sampras at the Aussie Open the first time they played and gave him fits in two four-set losses at slams later on. His return of serve was by far his biggest weapon.
