No quarantine needed for players playing Rome coming from the USO.

According to article 1 of the Prime Ministerial Decree of 7 August, paragraph i, athletes coming from countries for which quarantine is envisaged, will only need to carry out, not earlier than 48 hours after arrival in Italy, a swab that is negative ". Go ahead for tennis players returning from the USA?

Ma Roma si giocherà? E soprattutto con tutti i posti disponibili?

But will Rome be played? And above all with all the places available?

All people are equal, but some are more equal than others.

Of course Rome will be played now albeit with no spectators like everywhere else.

Uk have announced anyone goes to France, they need to quarantine for 2 weeks on return. It seems the French cases are on the rise again

We'll see what Murray does. Wouldn't surprise me if he skips clay, or takes the quarantine (he seems pretty pragmatic and can suck it up), or gets an exception from the UK government.

Not directly related to tennis, but pertinent nonetheless - NHL hockey player decides to leave the 'bubble' after 3 weeks to be with his family; says playing games in empty arenas lacks the proper atmosphere...

    * Yes, it's me (last seen on TW boards in 2009).

So the player was a wild card, then? Narrows it down significantly.

For anyone who doesn't follow much hockey, this is a really big name player and it's a huge deal. Boston made the Cup finals last year and they definitely have much better odds with Rask in net. Speculation is there was something fairly serious going on at home and he needed to be there. Of course, he also has a baby (3rd child) at home so it could be as simple as that.

Ahhhh. I was thinking an alternate close to getting in.

I'm sure we'll find out soon.

    Michal Samulski @MichalSamulski

Kei Nishikori has pulled out of Western & Southern Open (“Cincinnati”) with COVID-19. He cancelled flight to New York, stays in Florida. Next update on Friday.

    James Rogers @ElliottJMR

Seconds after I saw Pat Cash complaining about the bubble regulations being "overkill," Kei Nishikori announces he's tested positive.

US open tennis “bubble” procedure - 6.30 am first round of testing in hotel (who else would have that type of carpet) now to wait (approx 24 hrs)for results locked in the room. This makes sense but as I read through the rules it seems that many are completely ridiculous and over kill.

It should be noted Nishikori was at the IMG facility

Could be that instead. Wonder if it's Stan.

Nothing is overkill. Poor choice of words, too.

Sooner or later, there will be one pro that will test positive and will develop symptoms that will affect his/her career significantly. And if s/he is a young player, there went a promising career.
    Face it. It's the apocalypse.
