Half of the groups have finished their RR play.

Australia, Russia, and Great Britain are through to the quarterfinals.

The QFs will be the winner of the 6 groups, plus the 2 best 2nd place finishers. Belgium will almost certainly get one of them. Canada is currently the next one.

This Evans-de Minaur match is the stuff of legend.

    Re: ATP Cup 1/3 - 1/12 2020

    Kyrgios/De Minaur just beat Murray/Salisbury 3-6 6-3 18-16.

Lots of match points saved on both sides, including Jamie Murray serving at 16-15.

15-15, De Minaur's serve is chipped right to the baseline. He wails on a groundstroke, which clips the net, making it seem like the match will probably over. He grabs a ball and gets ready to slam it out of the stadium, but stops himself. Receiving at match point, he stretches for a backhand return to crush it down the line. At 16-16, Kyrgios scoots sideways to also bunt a backhand return winner down the line. 17-16, Kyrgios hits an unreturnable serve. Match over.

It was really an epic tiebreak. Definitely a great advertisement for the tournament.

At the end, in celebration, Kygrios picked up Alex and put him over his shoulder. Kyrgios is pretty endearing in a team format. He obviously prefers a team sport.

Wish I had time to rewatch this match and the De Minaur-Evans match. Too many good matches to see.

Medvedev had another "villain" moment last night exchanging words with Schwartzman and Lahyani, even hitting his chair twice with his racquet. I think that should've garnered a stiffer penalty than a point. Some say disqualification.

I saw it and I agree a DQ was in order.

Ditto. Layhani flinched both times. He wan't sure if he was going to be hit or not. I'd even say disqualified and suspended for a few months. That bothered me a lot more than someone mouthing off.

Sorry to post again on this, but I just kept thinking about it. You should NOT be afraid when you are at work. The Mohamed was. Is it possible that the ATP will review this and penalize him more harshly?

As anxious as they were to revamp his reputation after the way he acted last year I doubt they'll do anything more (If they do I'll be pleasantly surprised)

Remember Cirstea(!) grabbed and shoved an umpire last year and nothing was done.
