Yep. I was right about Kvitova, wrong about Marcos Giron (so far), and haven't been able to keep up lately. (But hey, we just opened two fabulous shows where I work, and we're only 3-4 hours away from Lexington, Kentucky, so some of you might wanna stop by this summer on your way to/from that challenger there.... )

I keep thinking we will get in your area soon, and then it seems not to be happening. Almost all of Chris' family that is still alive lives in Nashville, but we haven't been there since a family wedding quite a few years ago. I think it will happen soon and I'll let you know.

Sadly no. I'm still trying though.

Juvan lost. And that's not necessarily good news for the field, Bernada Pera is a more dangerous qualifier than she is imo.

Pera looked pretty good. She outright took the third-set tiebreak from Juvan. Bullied her way to the win.

But it did go to the third set tiebreak in the first place.

Pera was as checked out as she could possibly be in that second set. Like she was just ready for it to be over to start the third. That kind of approach is risky and she's lucky to have won. Juvan was the more mature player battling the entire match. But Pera remains dangerous in the main draw. I'm sure she'll be happy to skip qualifying from now on.

I just caught the end. Juvan seems like a promising player. But Pera's experience helped her in the end. She was aggressive in the TB.

Less qualifiers for women than men? I guess I missed that somewhere but seems odd to me.

The French Open always only has 12 qualifiers on the women's side
