    TSIP 2019: Scoreboard

Week 1 is complete, and the first scoreboard update is ready to view. With almost all the A players resting, and the B players (and Alex Z.) treating this week like a paid practice session, it was a time for the C and D players to shine. Your results for this week were almost totally dependent on the bottom half of your roster.

Leading the way in week 1 was mysterX, who had 2 D players make the finals of their respective tournaments, in addition to having Houston winner Christian Garin on the roster (waylandboy-tw also picked Garin). The only other contestant with a tournament winning player was Miles, who was the only contestant to include noted head case and Marrakech winner Benoit Paire on his team. ptmcmahon, who selected Marrakech finalist Pablo Andujar and two semifinalists, finished third. The full scoreboard appears below.

The higher point tournaments begin this week with Monte Carlo, and there is still plenty of time for all players to move into the medal positions. Best of luck to everyone.

Fognini is helping you out this week. And he actually can compete with Rafa on clay, so who knows.

    Re: TSIP 2019: Scoreboard

Week 2 saw some huge surprises in Monte Carlo, as the popular A team picks all posted disappointing results. This means that any contestant brilliant enough to foresee a Lajovic vs Fognini final would have cleaned up this week. Unfortunately, finalist Dusan Lajovic went unpicked by all TAT contestant. However, four contestants were smart enough to pick Fabio Fognini, who reversed a Flabbio year-to-date performance with a Fabuloso career best title. The 4 Fognini pickers were the high scorers for the week, lapping the remainder of the field. yoort was the week 2 winner, closely followed by texasniteowl in second, with New England Nitemare in 3rd and waylandboy-tw just behind.

The overall contest standings also reflect the dominance of the Fabio contingent, as we have a new triumvirate of leaders. waylandboy-tw has taken first place, with a healthy lead over texasniteowl in second, followed closely by yoort in third. Last week's leader mysterX sits in fourth, a few points behind third place yoort. This week we have tournaments in Barcelona and Budapest. It is still early and there is plenty of time left for everyone to compete for the lead. Best of luck.

    Re: TSIP 2019: Scoreboard

Week 3 is complete, and we are nearly halfway through this years TSIP. No contestant had Budapest winner Berrettini on their team, and most of the contestants had Barcelona winner Dominic Thiem, so the weekly rankings were determined by contestants having finalists, semifinalists and quarterfinalists. The week 3 winner was omegadoom, who finished one point ahead of dave g in second, with New England Nitemare in third, followed by half a dozen contestants within 15 points of the third spot.

In the overall scoreboard, waylandboy-tw continues to hold the top spot, but mysterX and New England Nitemare have dislodged texasniteowl and yoort from the respective second and third place positions. Not having Thiem on their roster hurt texasniteowl considerably, while yoort sits in fourth place within striking distance of the leaders.

The scoreboard is below. Week 4 includes two smaller tournaments in Estoril and Munich before the higher point tournaments in the weeks to follow. Good luck to all the contestants.

Contestant Total Week 1 Week 2 Week 3
    waylandboy-tw 460 103 200 157
    mysterX 428 156 103 169

    Re: TSIP 2019: Scoreboard

Week 4 is complete, and if you were fortunate enough to have Estoril winner Stefanos Tsitsipas and Munich winner Cristian Garin on your roster, then it was your week to shine. Week 4 winner waylandboy-tw and runner-up mysterX each had both players in their lineup, but waylandboy-tw also had Estoril finalist Pablo Cuevas and Munich semi-finalist Roberto Bautista Agut active, resulting in a resounding victory for this week. New England Nitemare, who had both Estoril finalists in their lineup, finished third.

If I told you that the same three contestants held positions 1-3 in the overall contest after week 3, could you guess the overall standings after week 4? I am pretty sure you could, because TAT contest participants are very sharp. First place waylandboy-tw holds a commanding lead, while mysterX and New England Nitemare have also increased their leads over the remaining contestants. Memo to all other contestants: if you have any hope of catching waylandboy-tw, it is time for any unique picks on your roster to start racking up some wins. The other medal positions are still within reach, but good performances in the high point events for Madrid and Rome are a must.

Updated standings are below. Good luck to all contestants.

Contestant Total Week 1 Week 2 Week 3 Week 4
    waylandboy-tw 634 103 200 157 174

    Re: TSIP 2019: Scoreboard

The second of the three major tournaments in TSIP has finished, leaving the last major in Rome to be contested this week, plus one last week of two smaller tournaments. Contestants with Novak Djokovic or Stefanos Tsitsipas on their roster did very well this week. And the one contestant with Djokovic AND Tsitsipas did exceptionally well. First place for the week goes to that contestant, waylandboy-tw, with patrick in second followed by Omegadoom in third.

The overall standings remain unchanged. waylandboy-tw remains in first place and has extended their lead over the field. mysterX had Djokovic in the lineup this week and stays in second, with New England Nitemare riding the runner-up performance of Stefanos Tsitsipas to hold onto third place. There are still two weeks to go in this contest, but it is going to be very difficult for anyone to catch waylandboy-tw without some major upsets in Rome and the following week. The second and third place contestants have managed to pull further away from the field, but the group which follows remain in striking distance of the other medal positions.

The full scoreboard is below. Best of luck to all the contestants.

    Contestant Total Week 1 Week 2 Week 3 Week 4 Week 5

    Re: TSIP 2019: Scoreboard

The third and final Masters 1000 tournament in the The Slide Into Paris 2019 has been completed, with high scores for most contestants due to the Rafa vs Novak final. Contestants with the other two semi-finalists, Stefanos Tsitsipas and Diego Schwartzman, did very well this week. The weekly winner was ponchi101, the only contestant with all four gentlemen on this week's squad. New England Nitemare finished a close second, and waylandboy-tw finished third. Each had three of the four on their roster.

In the overall standings, waylandboy-tw remains in first place well ahead of the field. New England Nitemare and mysterX swapped the second and third place positions, with New England Nitemare taking a healthy lead. yoort, omegadoom, ponchi101, Miles and patrick are within shouting distance of a medal position, depending on how things go during the final week.

To give you some idea of waylandboy-tw's dominance in this contest, in the final week, the theoretical maximum score is 346. There are five contestants who could earn the maximum and would still not catch the leader even if he rested his entire squad for the final week. And given that he exercised his last three trades for the final week and has the most players active, there is not likely to be any let up. Best of luck to the remaining contestants fighting for second and third.

    TSIP 2019: FINAL Scoreboard

Week 7 of The Slide Into Paris was relatively uneventful. About half the contestants had Geneva winner Alexander Zverev on this week's roster, but only one contestant had noted head case Benoit Paire on the roster. Kudos to Miles for picking Paire, who had a very good clay court season with two titles. This week's winner was 3mlm, who had Zverev and both runner-ups scoring points this week. In second place was tenedab and in third was waylandboy-tw.

The final standings are in, and the medals go to:

First Place: waylandboy-tw. Took the lead in week 2, and increased that lead every week for the remainder of the contest. I have played most of the TAT fantasy contests, and while there may have been a more dominating performance in one of these contests, I can't remember one. Great job, waylandboy-tw.

Second Place: New England Nitemare. Finished a strong second, outpacing the third place finisher by nearly 100 points. After a slow opening week, NEN was among the leaders for the next five weeks. Well done.

Third Place: mysterX. This lazy bum neglected to make his final two trades for the last week of the contest, after preserving them for that specific purpose. Nevertheless, he was able to overcome his weak 7 performance to hold off Omegadoom and ponchi101. I hope Omegadoom is not too upset, since my medal count is still a trifle compared to the overall TAT Medal leader.

I want to thank yoort for helping with the scoring during the contest. yoort worked behind the scenes and made it easy for us to double-check each other's scores. Since we were both working with Google spreadsheets we were able to view each other's scoring and stay on track.

And lastly, I want to thank all the contestants who played the contest. It wouldn't be a contest without you all.

The final scores are below. Enjoy the French Open. And Green Acres will be starting up in a couple of weeks.

    Contestant Total Week 1 Week 2 Week 3 Week 4 Week 5 Week 6 Week 7
    waylandboy-tw 1279 103 200 157 174 248 259 138
