As if Nole needed any help from the draw...

    Pretty tough draw for Murray.

What happens is Rafa withdraws? Will a LL or the No. 33 player get his spot in the draw?

A lot of unpredictable talent in this section:

    H. Chung (24) vs B. Klahn
    S. Querrey vs P. Herbert
    S. Wawrinka vs E. Gulbis
    N. Kyrgios vs M. Raonic (16)

Norrie and Fritz have a 1st round rematch of their Sydney match.

Would love to see de Minaur vs. Nadal in round 3

Norrie outclassed Fritz in Sydney. Fritz would blaze a forehand now and then, but Norrie was in control. I'm really impressed with him.

I dunno if Novak is overly ecstatic with that draw. Tsonga, Shapovalov, and Medvedev are probably not comfortable matches coming off a weird loss and trying to work his way into winning form. He should be fine, but Ill actually be intrigued to watch those early matches for him for once.

Klizan is also a tough out. I was thinking his draw actually kind of sucked.

Oh right, I think Klizan has a recent-ish win over Novak too.

Of the Big 3, I think Nole's draw is the toughest. Roger's the easiest.

If he withdraws before qualifying starts play, everyone moves up a spot. After qualifying starts play, it would be a LL taking his spot. I think.

I consider Tsonga over the hill and the other two too green to beat Nole in best of 5 in Melbourne. Well see. I dont really know much about Medvedev except hes highly touted and will be top 5 in the future. But not yet.

    I could be wrong!

Hyeon Chung made anything possible! It was a different Novak, but 2019 Novak didn't look like 2nd-half-of-2018 Novak in his warmup tournament. Either way, what I wouldn't give for a first timer on the men's side! Just looking at the draw, though, I can't imagine who that would be.

I think they put in a 33 seed and the LL goes where the formerly unseeded player was in the draw

That's what happens if a seed pulls out before the Order Of Play is released. Once it's released, there's no draw reshuffling.
