I thought Rafa was shutting it down for the remainder of the season.

That is a super unfortunate section of the draw.

10 double faults now for Shapovalov. He broke early to take a 3-0 lead in the first set, then lost five straight games, thanks to an assortment of unforced errors. He was up 4-1 in the second set, but got broken again thanks to a couple of double faults. Gasquet, who has certainly won some points with very nice play of his own, has just tied the second set up at 4.

This Gasquet/Shapovalov match is a lot like the one before it between Feli Lopez and De Minaur. The older more experienced player is out thinking the young hot shot when it matters.

Gasquet is up 6-3 in the second set TB, a set Shapovalov once led it.

Is that a problem for him? That's a lot of double faults unless he has some kind of shoulder or abdominal injury I'm unaware of.

He's got "I've played too much tennis-itis" or he's playing possum.

Good match so far between oft-injured Graphic and recently-returned-from-knee-surgery Tsonga.

    First-set tie-breaker, of course.

Cilic was a little more than 50% of the way to a Golden Set (3-0, 30-0 in 2nd vs PEHK), then finally lost a point. (make that 2 in a row now).
