His parents are Spanish so he could have represented that country too.

Spanish men's tennis needs some new young blood. But since he has 109 tattooed on his chest (he is the 109th player to play for Aussie Davis Cup), I'm guessing that is unlikely.

I think the opposite. He is very light and he looks very flexible. He slid for a few points and he hardly made a noise on the court. He doesn't look as if the running takes a lot of effort.
Now, as I just jinxed him to death, watch him break two ACL's in his next match. But I just don't see him getting injured because of strain.

FYI, he trains there because it's my understanding he's been raised there primarily and that's where his family lives as well. It would appear he's spent more time growing up in Spain than Australia. He clearly feels some kind of kinship to Austrailia, but yeah, he could have easily played for Spain and apparently has in the past. I agree that the tattoo makes it seem unlikely that he will again.

And I thought only one of his parents was Spanish. But the other is not Aussie. I think it's Paraguayan or Uruguayan. I heard some of this during one of his matches recently and I looked up the rest because I was curious about the name on an Aussie. I want to say it was on the ATP website, but could've been an article.
