I was looking Kristen Bell from "The Good Place" would get a comedy nod but...

Lorne is producing this year on NBC. He could've gone with Seth or Jimmy if they were open to doing it again this year, but this is a good launch for Michael and Colin's season on SNL and should be good for the show. On-air talent on the hosting channel is strongly preferred lately limiting the options. There also haven't been two hosts in a while and that's become a more popular choice of late, so they may have wanted to try that again (only this time have it be people with an actual connection that might work on stage). They aren't my favorite WU hosts, but Colin and Michael definitely have their fans, which is why they've lasted for a several seasons now.
