And now for the much awaited, not always perfect, analysis of picks.

Mannarino 50: nice round number. Nice grass season tune-ups. Nice pick.

Seppi 17: not passionate about the pick, but can't object to harshly. You may pass, but be warned there were better choices.

Coric 1: going by present form this was unnecessarily soon.

Bonzi 1: never good when I have to see if it was a typo. Have a feeling Bonzi will make you look like Bonzo.

Norrie 1: why take such a big risk so early? Win he might, but it feels like a coin toss.

Krajinovich 4: yes he's seeded, but he still has that newcomer smell and I don't trust new faces easily.

Garcia Lopez 26: at first I thought these were old Roland Garros picks, then I saw his opponent and it became clear. Be warned of the old Suicide Pool mantra about picking AGAINST someone.

Muller 44: in past years yes, but he's clearly in the "what-have-you-done-for-me-lately?" category. Accessible opponent inclines balance in your favor.

Pella 1: picking any Argentine not named Del Potro here is a leap of faith. You'd better bring some holy water to the Tennis Cathedral.

Karlovic 2: NO. Just no. Even if he wins, NO. He's president of the Do Not Pick Club (VP is Gulbis by the way). If by some miracle you survive, know that you've just tempted some bad karma.

Donaldson 2: like Krajinovich but aggravated by the fact that he's not even seeded and has a tougher opponent.

Isner 20: I tend to avoid him like the plague, but if you're bent on taking him, this is as good as it gets.

Millman 4: hmmmm, yes. He should get you through, but if he doesn't can we really say we're surprised? Stay close to the door so you don't bother the rest when you have to leave.

Sousa 1: well, if the previous pickers are near the door, you'd do best to stand under it... and maybe start calling a cab.

Anderson 1: he could have been used later on, but overall, not a bad choice.

Djere 1: you don't value your life much, do you?

Lacko 17: the smart pick. Going against Bonzo and later against Roger.

Leo Mayer 10: how did he get seeded?! Anyhow, facing against another hard serving player, I think there's too much risk. Plus, the nationality

Pouille 3: this all boils down to whether you think Raonic will be healthy enough to reach their projected match-up and win or not.

Raonic 1: well, obviously this person doesn't think he's up to the task.

Youzhny 1: former good grass courter, his best days are way behind him. See that you're not sent out to pasture with him.

McDonald 1: I think you got hungry and typed what first came to your head.

CarreŮo Busta 2: solid player and nice pick. Maybe too soon if Isner falters as he's wont to do.

    Kohlschreiber 15: I utterly approve.

Berankis 2: coin seems to be going your way if ever so slightly.

Harrison 6: doesn't matter who he's playing, this guy has had an awful season, so why go here?

Johnson 12: yes, I suppose you could make a good case for this pick, so I'll approve.

Querrey 5: past Wimbledon success would say this is a no-brainer. Still, haven't seen Sam's form and would wait a round or two before picking him.

Tsitsipas 19: one of the flavors of the season, I haven't seen him on grass though. I reckon he's safe today.

Fabbiano 1: see you in 2019!

I'm seriously thinking about Gulbis for day 2. Ernie will either lose or make a run to the quarters, so he will take me out one way or another.

    Love the Karlovic bit.

I think Isner is the Do Not Pick Club's ambassador to Wimbledon.

I admit as soon as I looked at draw and saw Lacko vs Bonzi under Roger I didnít even bother to carry on reading, and I picked Lacko. But itís always a danger picking someone who did well the week before a slam as they always seem to flop, as Coric just has

I saw a lot of Lacko picks so I decided to pick from a different "seed-feeder" match. Worked out fine for now.
    I disapprove of this message

Is espn charging for the watch espn feature where they stream all the matches? It used to be free and they want 5$ for something called espn+? Can you say no just show me the tennis? Anyone have any idea what I am talking about?

Not really, not at Wimbledon or at any slam really in the first round. He has very few first round losses. He might make you sweat a bit, but he's rather reliable then. After the first round, you're just playing with fire, and that's at any slam, not just Wimbledon.

Karlovic is a never ever ever pick. Just don't do it to yourself. He won today. That's gonna give those poor souls and probably a few others confidence to pick him at the US Open where he will be up against an innocent looking 87th ranked clay court specialist you've never heard of and you will surely be posting in the Loser's Thread on Day One.

Yes. ESPN is making a dumb money grab and screwing people over if you hadn't heard. They've been moving a lot of what was previously available via Watch ESPN and ESPN 3 onto ESPN Plus. Watch ESPN is pretty barebones at this point. They never streamed all the matches, but it was more than the 3 they have up now. They appear to have more courts available on ESPN Plus than they previously did (they just did a promo mid-match showing 14 live matches). Doesn't matter to me, still not paying them anything else. But a few have, I'm not sure if they are happy with it or not. @Ti-Amie definitely did their trial last week so you can ask her if you want to know something specific.

Mannarino had to break serve to stay in the third set, which he won in a tiebreak for a 2-1 lead.

That match has not been nearly as comfortable as I expected.

Don't trash Dr Ivo. He was due to win in the first round. And he did.

Both Carreno Busta pickers should make a day 2 pick just in case he ekes out a win tomorrow.
