Definitely. I was thinking "I hope she has a good team, so they don't destroy her." Early success is like winning the lottery. It's incredible rare, but it also increases your likelihood of going bankrupt.

People are already comparing Cori Gauff’s style and demeanor to Venus. I really really hope she’s tuning all that out. There’s a long line of American disappointments who believed their own hype too early.

    That said, she’s very impressive

She has a fabulous team looking after her. And Moratoglou. She is going to go very far.

This is more of my thinking. I'm just hopeful, not expecting anything at this point, I know she's incredibly young and we'll have to see. I think a very important difference is that she has a real team behind her, and it's not merely her parents making strange calls that hamper her development (yes, I'm looking at you Donald Young's parents). Entirely too many parents fancy themselves Richard Williams not realizing they don't have Venus or Serena talent to get to that rarefied air.
