Was a great game between Spain and Portugal. Three goals for Ronaldo.

Cristiano is so, so amazing. Superb game, worthy of a much later round.

Best game I've seen in a while....I wouldn't be surprised if we don't see another one better.
    Thanks for the medal Johanna!

What a perfect shot Ronaldo hit to tie the match at 3 all. The arc. The positioning. Beautiful.

Great day for European teams - three wins and one draw. Iceland scoring against Argentina and gaining a point was impressive. I still expect Argentina and Croatia to easily progress out of that group, though.

    What an upset.

I was screaming at the top of my lungs to TAKE THE SHOT. My family was looking at me strangely when I finally went into the other room.

Really fantastic win for Mexico, very happy for them, but really think that it should've been at least 2-0 because earlier on, great opportunities when players (I think it may have twice been Chicharito) did not take a quick enough shot that was there.

Germany looked unusually slow and disorganized. Maybe it's a curse of defending champions, the last two (Italy and Spain) also failed to win their first matches the next time.

Brazil also failed to win drawing 1-1 with Switzerland.

Only strong candidate to win thus far is France, and strugglingly so.

Deservedly so, but it almost ended as it all too often does for England in major tournaments.
