Indian Wells Women - Picks and Results Thread

since they is a managable number of us (17) playing the womens, figured I could set aside a few minutes at lunchtime and set us up a picks and results thread. Can't promise to be totally on top of this as during the Slams, but I'll try.

outstanding Day 1 performance overall. We only lost one player in an incredibly hard round to navigate through. Hope you'll stick around and play the Mens game, FlowerChild39.

this ought to teach us not to pat ourselves on the back for having a good Day 1. Three matches into Day 2, and we're down another 4 players.

Sorry, Moose, just couldn't wait to take out Seb and those Sprem pickers.

After I lost in the first round.

you would have thought a 9 seed would be a safe pick in a 2nd round match....but Dechy knocks out 2 more players. And we have to wait to see if Dry survives to Day 3, as Bartoli's match won't be finished until today.

Peer gets man of us through, but it took 3 sets.

been a nice run for our remaining five players over the last couple of days. Looked like once you got through the first round with the non-seeders, there got to be a little breathing room to make picks.

Flavia retires with an injury, and that brings the womens game down to three of us, with both shtexas and I waiting to see if we survive Day 6.

and with Kirilenko dumping out to Chakvetadze, the game is down to two of us...Jidkova Fan and myself. Here's hoping at least one of us has a successful run through March 18.

Sorry, Moose, I thought picking Safina to beat Hingis was a risky pick.

very risky, 3mlm, but it was my only chance at beating the draw. I had allready used Hingis, and needed to save Sharapova, since I figured there was no way Dinara could win a match against Sharapova. I was either going to do my best to play on til the last day, or go out today. I'm glad I gave it a shot.

Had Safina converted more of her multiple break points, Moose wouldn't be apologizing...

It was a gutsy pick, albeit, perhaps, his only way to beat the draw.
