Essentially all medal contenders have Jaziri, so he won't be a big factor.

Coric will be very important this week. None of the top three have him, but a bunch in the 4-10 spots have him (Miles, waylandboy, e11even, patrick). In fact, if, say, Coric beats Tsonga in the final, and a few other things go right, watch out for patrick making a move from 12th place to challenging for a medal. No jinx intended

And I think Martini still has Chung? He could loom large as Martini is only 22 points behind me and Chung is a super unique pick. And I think tenedab has Tsonga, Chung, AND Lu.

He says causing Tsonga to lose! Only the Coric and Anderson trades this week may wind up helpful.

    Re: THRNY 2015: Scoreboard

Trying to crunch the numbers tied to various scenarios that may unfold at this point makes my head hurt.

I feel much better now about using all my trades (accidentally) early. Even if I had saved a trade for the last week (e.g., not wasted a trade on the waste of space known as Viktor Troicki), I would have traded in either Simon or Tsonga, both of which would have been a bust, rather than Anderson, Coric, or Johnson. (Wouldn't have even considered Lu; now watch him win the event.)

Still, my best hope is that everyone except Jaziri withdraws due to injury.

Well, except for maybe 4 players, what a dismal scoring final week in Winston-Salem. The top players were gone as early as they could manage and that allowed a qualifier through to the finals that no one could've had on their team even if they wanted him. But still, Kevin Anderson, the winner, was present on a few teams, which produced out winners. skatingfan came out on top with 150 points (2 SFists and Anderson). Lukeorion came in second at 133, with e11even scores a crucial high-quality performance and is right behind in third with 131.

And so a couple of players made some slick moves in this final week. Making a big jump into first right at the finish line is out overall champion: Drop-shot with 967 points. Taking home the silver, just an agonizing 9 points behind, is 2012 champion Omegadoom, who cannot seem to not medal in this contest each year. And then jumping into the bronze position from outside of the top 5 is e11even. A round of applause to our medalists! This is a tough contest to win.

And that wraps up another year. I believe this is the 7th time I've helped facilitate this particular contest (it's kinda my favorite ) and it's always a pleasure. Please thank dave g, who helped out with scoring quality control and did every bit as much work as I did, albeit more behind the scenes, as well as Drop-shot who has a lot of balls in the air as contest head. And please pass along thanks to the rest of the contest staff as well, who all do this for the love of the game. I hope to see you all next year!
