    Cool Grand Slam Crown

I've decided this year to track player performances across all the grand slam events, with the top player for men and women winning the Grand Slam Crown.

    Here's how it works:
1 point awarded for first match won in each event
Points for an event double for each match won thereafter.
So maximum points for winning singles is 64, doubles is 32 and mixed is 16.
[first round matches in Wimbledon mixed doubles are ignored since it has a round of 48 format]

The top 10 after the Australian Open (3 of 12 events completed) are:

    Men:

    RANK Name POINTS
    1 Novak DJOKOVIC (SRB) 64
    2 Simone BOLELLI (ITA) 33
    3 Andy MURRAY (GBR) 32
    3 Fabio FOGNINI (ITA) 32
    5 Leander PAES (IND) 17
    6 Nicolas MAHUT (FRA) 16
    6 Pierre-Hugues HERBERT (FRA) 16
    6 Tomas BERDYCH (CZE) 16
    6 Stan WAWRINKA (SUI) 16
    10 Marcelo MELO (BRA) 10

    Women:

    RANK Name POINTS
    1 Serena WILLIAMS (USA) 64
    2 Bethanie MATTEK-SANDS (USA) 34
    3 Lucie SAFAROVA (CZE) 32
    3 Maria SHARAPOVA (RUS) 32
    5 Ekaterina MAKAROVA (RUS) 20
    6 Martina HINGIS (SUI) 18
    7 Jie ZHENG (CHN) 16
    7 Madison KEYS (USA) 16
    7 Yung-Jan CHAN (TPE) 16
    10 Julia GOERGES (GER) 12

I've delayed posting this because it took ages to find a reliable data source, but I have one now so future updates should follow fairly promptly after the remaining grand slams.

This is an interesting idea, but based on the results so far, it seems like the doubles results may be too heavily weighted.

Depends on what the goal is...we can all figure out who's the best with heavily weighed singles ratings so it's more interesting to me with doubles weighed heavily/evenly.

    Sorry, but: Pierre-Hugues HERB...Who?
Yep, the doubles are a bit over weighted. But a pretty good idea.
    Face it. It's the apocalypse.

    Where's Wawrinka?

Added Wawrinka in equal 6th. The rankings were correct but for some reason he went missing in the copy and paste from excel.
