    Men's Tiebreak (Mon) USOSP

Hello, angryduck71 and wfwalsh, and Welcome to the Men's US Open Suicide Pool TIEBREAKER.

Congratulations to both of you for winning the men's suicide pool. You will both receive a medal.

However, there is only one prize, and therefore, we have to conduct a tiebreak.

    The tiebreak will be:

    1) your choice for the winner of the men's final;

    2) without going over, the total number of games played in the men's final (a 7-6 set counts as 13 games). If both go over, then the closest wins; and

    3) without going over, the total number of aces made by the WINNER of the men's final (aces determined by the stats on the official US Open website) If both go over, then the closest wins.

If we can determine a winner from the first question (both pick different champions), we will not go to question 2. Only if we are still tied after question 2, will we go to question 3.

Do not post your answers in this thread. Send a Private Message with your tiebreak answers to me (shtexas), and once the thread closes, I will then post your tiebreak answers here in this thread. To send me a private message, simply click my name in the upper left corner of this post and select "private message."

The deadline is the start of play for the men's final, that is, Monday, September 8 at 5:00 PM eastern, 2:00 PM Pacific.

Best of luck, and again, congratulations to both of you for a great two weeks!

Your men's final (like you don't know) is:

    Kei Nishikori vs Marin Cilic

    Re: Men's Tiebreak (Mon) USOSP

    angryduck71:

    1. Winner: Nishikori
    2. # of games: 42
    2. # of aces: 5

    wfwalsh:

    1. Winner: Nishikori
    2. # of games: 35
    2. # of aces: 8

Therefore, question #2 will determine our prize winner. Since it is "without going over" and if both go over, closest wins: Anything up to and including 41 games, and wfwalsh wins. If the match hits 42 games or beyond, angryduck wins.

    Good luck to you both!

    And Cilic

Thanks! I'd give back Mr. Wertheim's $100,000 check in an instant if it would make Mr. Federer the champion.
