what's the earliest a winner has been decided?

forgive me if this is a bad question, but this is only my second pool. looking at the women's draw, i'd think it's pretty plausible that no one will make it all the way to picking the champion. have their been tournaments in the past where there was only one person standing by the semi's? what would be the ruling if there were a few people that made it to the final, but all lost there from not having a player available to pick?

think we had one pool where all but one person was out after the 1/4s, Fish. That was our worst. A couple of times no one has beaten the draw.

With today's upsets, we are down to 10 players in the womens game. But a few of them have the righ combination of players savd to get through the tournament. It'll be interesting to see how it plays out.

Is it really just 10 left? Wow I feel even more special now!

I am one of the 10 left, thanks to picking what I felt was the least safest choice. I can still beat the draw...but I will have to pick Safarova sometime to do it (I had been saving Mauresmo) - I believe most of the other 10 may be in the same bout.

Of course, first tomorrow I have to come up on the right side of Schynder - Chaketdavse - already a tall task!

Oh yeah, and if Serena wins...then I'll also have to choose Peer as well! Imagine next round getting to choose from those two monsters However, even if I lose, top 10 sounds good. Just getting far enough to think this in depth about it was quite the experience!

I guess that's what happens when 4 top 10 players lose within a couple hours of each other...and another CHIC pick to make the final is down 3-0 as well!

Last year one of the pools was decided in the semis I believe.

Also, just noticed...all 10 of us picked Vadisova today. If she wins one more match, we are guarenteed that no one will beat the draw.

I wonder what's the longest anyone ever lasted on both sides of the draw?
