Congratulations and welcome to day 10 of the Australian Open suicide pool. An incredible performance by those who remain in the game. Salud!Y ou have made it very far indeed.

I'm taking Davydenko and, like many, will be pulling hard for a Gonzo victory to give me a chance to beat the draw.

Because I have chosen both Haas and Davydenko previously, I have to choose between the last quarter's participants.

I'm going with the guy who I picked to be a semifinalist before the tournament even started...

    Fernando Gonzalez for me, please!

    Thanks,

    Phil
    I'll miss you!

anytime Federer lets Robredo get to a tiebreak, I'd call that squeaking by for Federer ;D

I'm a little boxed into a corner here....I realized I had taken Davydenko a little too early about 5 hours after his 3rd round match ended.

I have Gonzalez or Tommy Haas to choose from for this round.

I'm going to go with Tommy Haas.

Was anyone else shocked to hear that Tommy Haas was the oldest player left in the draw the other night? I still think of him as a young player and that just blew me away when they said that....almost as much as when they started talking about 31 year old Marcelo Rios playing on the seniors tour.

To re-state though, I want Tommy Haas (12) this round.

Yeah! We made it to the top-10! Woohoo!

Here's to the good ol' dependable, reliable, he-better-get-me-to-the-SF round...

    Nikolay Davydenko

He has to be the most NOT talked about #3 ever! Well, except for his Sydney comment, I guess.

    Reliable?

3 of the last 6 slams he at least made the quarters

3 of the last 6 he didn't make it past round 2

I woulda picked him too though...he's MORE reliable than most actually...
    A Canadian Slam winner? Inconceivable!

I REALLY hate making this pick. I've known since yesterday whom I had to choose, and I don't want to do it. For me to beat the draw, I need to be able to pick Davydenko to win his semifinal and Federer to win the final. Blake really messed things up for me because I was counting on him to oust Nadal in this round. Hell, I don't even know if Davy will beat Haas (but he is on my Peterskan team). So with trepidation, fear, and trembling I choose: Fernando Gonzalez. :'(
