I've been watching most of the match. It's really a great example of how smart Kerber is. In one point, Kvitova slammed about four incredible backhands cross court. By the last one, Kerber had to hit a lunging half volley to get it back, but she did. Kvitova then tried to finish it off with a forehand down the line. Kerber got that and redirected cross court. Kvitova scrambled for it and desperately tried to go down the line, ending up in the net. Of course, that point went down as a UE in the stat book.

Now that Petra's out, I can root for Li to grab her first title (ETA: in 2012) guilt free! Seriously though, Na's been playing beastly in the last two weeks. Hopefully she can bring this form into the USO. I'd like to see her grab another slam.

ETA: Though, tbh, I'd prefer for her to win the AO rather than the USO, just to banish the memories of the 2011 final but a hardcourt slam for Na would be nice.

Thanks to Google, "ETA" means "Edited to add." Learned something new.

H2H is 4-1 Li. She won three times in 2010 but they've split two meetings this year. Kerber won the match on hard courts (Indian Wells).
