Very good looking match on court 2 and ESPN is ignoring it.

The players may be good looking but the tennis isn't great.

Thank you! Or brian baker's match. Anything but yapping in the studio about the stalest topics ever.

    Ah, they heard you.

Edit: never mind! You only wanted to see 15 seconds, right?

Serena definitely needs a 1st week "A" game today...she can't afford one bit to mess around with Jie Zheng!

On a side note, I LOVE the jacket!

I like the jacket too. Always surprised they can hit in jackets like that. I couldnt, even warming up.

Shvedova played a golden set in the first set against Errani, did not lose a single point.

Lol, it took all of 15 mins. Then Errani came out and took the first 2 games of the 2nd set but now Shvedova is back firing winners all over the place.

Shvedova is a very good player, particularly on faster surfaces (top 20 potentially). Don't be fooled by her WC status - that is almost entirely because of injuries... No way I would have bet against her vs anyone outside the top 5-6.

I wonder if that is the first golden set in GS history (main draws, open era)...

Re: 2012 Wimbledon Day 6 OoP & Discussion

Someone already looked it up and this was only the third golden set in the recorded history of tennis and the first in a GS:

Only one man in the history of top-tier professional tour tennis has ever achieved this: Bill Scanlon against Marcos Hocevar in the first round of the WCT Gold Coast Classic at Delray Beach on February 22, 1983. Scanlon won the match 6–2, 6–0. The achievement is recorded in the Guinness Book of World Records. In 1943, Pauline Betz won the Tri-State tournament in Cincinnati, Ohio, defeating Catherine Wolf in the final, 6–0, 6–2, without losing a point in the first set.
