My number #1 men's pick was the loser of the Darcis-Rufin match. I just picked the wrong guy to lose. It's really interesting how close you can come to winning this contest even though your score may be way down in Mediocreville.

Yes, that's the really exasperating thing about making picks here. You pick the winner, then who s/he beats in the finals, then semis, etc. and you're fairly confident of the picks until you get to the first round match, and it's quailfier vs. wild card. It's essentially a pick'em match that makes the difference between getting zero points and a whole pile of points. And you get several of those every tournament.
