My #1 male (Del Potro) is playing Martini's #1 male (Ferrer.) A Ferrer win would give me a real good chance of winning this.

Re: 2012 Wimbledon YCWJ: Scoreboard and Lounge

Oops - the pick tracker has Serena listed for my QF player, but should be Kvitova, who beat Schiavone [correctly listed for Round 4]. Everyone else I looked at has Serena correctly listed for the QFs with Shvedova as the Round 4 loser.

Please correct this so Serena, when she exacts revenge on Kvitova, can take me through to at least one more round before I zero out. Thanks.

Scores through the end of the 4th Round

As the contest progresses, ptmcmahon's lead continues to grow. He now leads by 14 points with 58 total, and a whopping 4 picks still remaining (no one else has more than 2). It will take a lot for him to lose at this point.

Charlie02123 and bess2189 are tied for second with 44. Neither of them share a pick with ptmcmahon, or with each other for that matter, which can only be a good thing for them.

Others still could have a shot if their chips fall correctly.

I'm down to three with Serena winning, and two of my three are playing each other tomorrow so I will have one or two left.

Charlie and Bess both have a #1 pick left (Bess's is already through to semis) and could pick up a 20 point bonus so I still could easily blow this huge lead!

Scores through the end of the Quarterfinals

After the quarterfinals, three contestants remain in the running for the grand prize. Still leading the way by an ever-increasing amount of points is ptmcmahon with 64. He will win unless one or both of the scenarios below occurs:

Azarenka loses to Kerber/Radwanska in the women's final and Federer beats Murray in the men's final. In that case, bess2189 will win.

Djokovic loses to Murray/Tsonga in the men's final. In that case, Charlie02123 will win. However, if Azarenka loses in the women's final as well, that would mean that Charlie and bess would tie.

Only one of the women's semifinalists is represented in our contestants' picks. That means that if Serena beats Azarenka, no one will have picked the ultimate loser.

    Good Luck All.

USA versus Canada! Since yesterday was the American Independence Day I'm feeling particularly patriotic. I'm going to go eat some apple pie and drink some beer are root for Djokovic to win the semifinal, twisting his ankle as he wins match point. (I would eat a hot dog too, but after imagining that hot dog eating contest playing on ESPN3, I'm going to take a long break from those.)

Also, I would really love Federer to win one last slam and retake #1 to break that record. I think I want that more than an electronic medal, but it's hard to say.

The medals are electronic??? I thought mine were just held up by typical postal service delays.

Wow...that was a very rare example of me cheering FOR Federer. I'm almost never happy when he wins.

Also, if Murray loses this semi, than I'll be guaranteed the men's wooden spoon winner as I'd have both finalists.

Scores through the end of the Semifinals

Congratulations to ptmcmahon for clinching this contest's medal with Serena and Federer's semifinal victories! He will win by at least 18 points, which will be the largest margin of victory since Wimbledon 2010. If Murray beats Federer in the men's final, he will have the largest margin of victory since we started archiving these contests at the beginning of 2009. Either way, it's a very impressive feat.

Bess2189 and Charlie02123 are still tied for 2nd place with 48, but both of them have lost their remaining picks and are out of contention. If Federer wins the men's final, they'll end up tied for second.

If Murray beats Federer, danutz will finish in second, one point ahead of bess and Charlie. In that case, lukeorion and manolo will have picked a wooden spoon winner as well.

If Federer beats Murray, Alex Bogomolov Jr. will be the men's wooden spoon winner.

For the women, if Serena beats Radwanska, Monica Niculescu will be the ultimate loser. If Radwanska beats Serena, it will be Casey Dellacqua.

My number #1 men's pick was the loser of the Darcis-Rufin match. I just picked the wrong guy to lose. It's really interesting how close you can come to winning this contest even though your score may be way down in Mediocreville.

Congratulations to pt. Great job picking losers, which ain't all that easy.

Seconded -- I've picked the wooden spoon at least once before without ending up anywhere near the medal. What a diabolical game this is. WTG pt !
