Congrats Maria Sharapova on winning RG 2012, completing the career grand slam and returning to #1. It's been rocky but you presevered!

Jtdrum and all the other Pova fans must be stoked.

This is the first match I watched of Pova this tournament and I was really impressed.

I always thought she would win RG, (not against Justine et al of course) but I always felt with a good draw and the right time she could do it. And she did!

    Congrats again Pova!

Vika winning in Melbourne, Maria winning in Paris. It's a good year for Team Stillwater.

I'm genuinely surprised that my cold, black heart is very happy for her. Well executed, Maria!

    Well done Maria!
Way to prove that great ball striking works on any surface!

Hard to believe but I think if she wins maybe one more slam, she should be placed above players like Venus and Justine in overall success in GS.

And congrats to Daniel Nestor. 77th career doubles title.

TSN2 is showing the doubles match right now (just played the first point).

Hmmmmm maybe Venus, but I'm not sure if with just one more slam I'd put her ahead of Justine, even with the career slam. If she ends up with 7 definitely. Still it's really hard to argue for or against.

I'm happy for Maria. I like what Carillo said about how hard she works to improve her movement: "It's not like she needs the money."
