FOSP Men's & Women's SWATCH TIEBREAK
Congrats again to our two winners in our 8th Annual Women's French Open Suicide Pool, and our "to be determined" winners (either 1 or 8 of you) of our Men's Pool! ALL of our champions receive a medal as part of their avatar, and the congratulations of a vast community of tennis fans.
Oh, and one of you will receive a commemorative French Open Swatch, courtesy of our good friend L. Jon Wertheim, and the fine people at Sports Illustrated Magazine.
We regret that we have but one Swatch to give. We'd love to award you all one. Heck, we'd love to give everyone on TAT one. But we have not yet hit Powerball. So instead, we have to have a tiebreak.
Each of you are asked to PM your answer to the following tiebreak questions before the SCHEDULED START OF PLAY of the mens' final - that is 3:00 p.m. Paris time, 9:00 a.m. New York time on Sunday, June 10. Your answer should be PM'd to Scotty.
To send a PM, click on my name to the left of this post, and you will have the option to Send a Private Message - when you click on this, a box will pop up to send your answer.
The two questions are as follows:
1) the TOTAL number of games played in the mens' final (Without going over the total).
2) the TOTAL number of winners hit by the mens champion as shown on the official Roland Garros website (again, without going over).
We will use only question 1 if a single winner can be determined from that question. If two or more players remain tied after the first tiebreak question, we will use the 2nd question.
Just a side note - SpecialK needs to make a pick in both the Men's and Women's tiebreak (and label them seperately) - she has already medaled in the womens' game, earning one tiebreak guess, and has saved Novak for the final - if Novak wins, she will be the only player to win the mens pool. If Rafa wins, her Mens tiebreak answer will be disallowed, which is why we need the tiebreak answered designated seperately.

Tiebreak continued overnight.
Winner will be declared when the match is complete.

Congrats to patmanmo!
Guess of 38 games was closest to the correct answer (38) without going over. Watch for a PM about sending the Swatch watch to you.
Looks like no one thought it would be a 5-set final, and a few guessed it would be straight sets:
Player # games # winners
SpecialK 43 42
patmanmo 38 46
nelslus 37 39
rip8aces 35 41
ktothem 34 35
Fiercehart 34 40
aliann 34 30
Ribbons 32 33
Snoo Foo 31 28
garp6 30 28

Congratulations to patmanmo. It should be a Rolex instead of a Swatch for coming that close to the correct # of games.

I'm relieved it's Patmanmo and not Nelsus. ;-) Wear in good health!

I'll just step on a local lard-ass's watch so I can feel better after these match results.
LOL, missed the Swatch by one game! It's amazing how close our guesses were. I had been banking on three 6-4 sets and a 6-1 set loss for Rafa.
Congrats patmanmo!

Re: FOSP Men's & Women's SWATCH TIEBREAK
Wow... thanks to everybody!
I figured on 4 sets, but I (along with everyone else) never thought the match would unfold as it did. I was more or less on the same wavelength as nelsus, though I guessed there would be at least one set with > 10 games.
About the only other time I can remember winning anything was when I won an NCAA tournament pool, and that was with 2 entries out of a total of 8.
Au revoir, and see y'all at Wimbledon!
