Re: 2012 FO Day 13 OoP & Discussion
There has been a lot of discussion about whether the current men's game is boring. I believe that what we have now we should enjoy because we don't know how quickly it could disappear - an untimely injury and it could be gone. I, for one, am enjoying the tremendous play we get at the end of the grand slam tournaments and if the early rounds are less exciting it still presents the chance to see a great player - hopefully - playing great tennis.

I'm not sure why it bothers me but I really feel like a slam final should be on the main court. Don't get me wrong, Lenglen is gorgeous, but I still feel like they could fit it in. Especially because there is only 2 matches on Chatrier.

I know, I might have started that convo (yesterday, at least...not the first time it's been voiced here), and I don't want to be cavalier about the privilege of watching these guys sustain their excellence. I don't mean to wish it away. We're incredibly spoiled. But at the same time, it's getting boring. Every once in a while, a different final would be nice. Last time was Berdych at Wimbledon in 2010, right?

I do kind of understand where the basis of this sentiment comes from.... but I don't think the Berdych or Soderling finals were really all that interesting content-wise except for the novelty of it. The DelPotro one was a bit more (close, competitive, and he actually won).
Dunno exactly what I'm trying to say... I guess if I would want to see different final players I want them to be playing just as well as these guys?

You're exactly right. There was no suspense in either final, too. We knew who was going to win.

Re: 2012 FO Day 13 OoP & Discussion
They just noted that if Nadal wins the semi today he will play in his 5th consecutive grand slam final - a streak longer than anyone else beside Federer (10 and 8 consecutive finals at different times) - no one else has been to more than four consecutive finals. Another reason to marvel at the greatness of the top three.

Hopefully Petra's boyfriend can reach one round farther than Petra.
Oops, just checked the site. Looks like the both fell in the same round.

Is the Tennis Channel live stream working for anybody? All I get is a commercial and then nothing but the Infinite HD logo

I would have expected Ferrer to be a bit more competitive than he is proving thus far. Maybe after the weather delay though I doubt it. This has to be among Nadal's best tournament performances thus far.

How unfortunate would it be for jjnow's wife Errani if she lost in both finals

Saw it. Amazing. Reminded me of Marcelo Rios' shot (at least I think it was him).
