Teams are due Monday, 6 AM EST.

Re: 2012 Green Acres: Strawberry Lounge
I always get a kick out of the "The team you choose is supposed to last you the entire four weeks" part from the rules

Re: 2012 Green Acres: Strawberry Lounge
Yes, especially since it's immediately followed by the sentence about the number of trades available. (And really, isn't five trades for a three-week contest somewhat excessive anyway?)

Well, it might look like that but if you think about it, not really since some trades require two actually.
Say you trade a man for a woman; then you also need to change a woman for a man to keep the 6:6 ratio. So you can get only two of these trades. Doesn't seem much.
If it were all ATP/WTA it'd be a different scenario.

Yeah with the Man for woman trades...I'm already struggling with "only" five trades.

I honestly tried to stay one step ahead of this. Definitely want two of the three top guys in for Wimbledon, for example. So, my plan is only to trade a same-sex player for a same-sex player.
We'll see how that works out......
Old News= Madison Brengle. New News- It's All About Amanda Fink Chichi Scholl, BABY!!!!!!!!

Re: 2012 Green Acres: Strawberry Lounge
I usually map out what trades I am thinking of making before I even post a team. This time, I saved that for later. So, I am happy to have 5.

Re: 2012 Green Acres: Strawberry Lounge
I haven't done one of these in years, because they make me so confused, but my French Open predictions success is making me hungry for more contest fame.
Welcome to my crazy game of fetch.

Michele Bachmann just announced that she plans to introduce legislation to stop this abominable practice.

Swiss journo Svenja Mastroberardi (@svenja_sportch) tweeted it's because of illness:

Re: 2012 Green Acres: Strawberry Lounge
Q: How do you pick two players for your team who are slated to play each other in the first round, yet end up with zero wins from the two players?
A: Pick a player who withdraws from the tournament prior to her first round match, which so discombobulates her teammate that said teammate gets beaten by a lucky loser.
It takes some great picking to accomplish a feat like that. Add Bernard "I'm saving myself for the real tournament" Tomic, and my Green Acres 2012 is off to a rollicking start.
