I was out all afternoon so just seeing today's highlights. Nice win by David Boudia in 10m platform diving. Qiu Bo got Silver and Tom Daley got the Bronze.

I watched the diving when I got home from work this morning. It was fabulous...except for poor Martin Wolfram who looked like dislocated his collarbone. Ouch!

Aren't those all in the government (and media), too?

Glad Tom Daley got a medal, it was looking sad for him

yay, Russian volleyballers came back from two sets to love down to win the Gold from Brazil. I was bummed when the women's team lost, so this is pretty exciting. Saved 2 matchpoints

Anyone else wondering what the hell you're going to do and watch on tv in a few hours when the Olympics end?

That final was one of the most exciting of the games, IMO. Even in the prelims, there was great competition.

I'm not. There's too much semi- Tom Daley fetus porn on tumblr as it is. We don't need more! :P

I'm also feeling the post Olympic let down - not as badly as 2010 but thank goodness the US Open starts in 2 weeks and then I have tickets for Davis Cup in Montreal in September - something to look forward to always helps.
Plus, Sochi 2014 is less than 18 months away

Re: *SPOILERS* 2012 London Olympics
Really, NBC must be the laughingstock of the broadcast world. They broadcast the closing ceremonies on tape delay, run a half hour past their scheduled end time, and still don't manage to broadcast the whole thing (they take an hour break to preview an exceedingly lame new sitcom and for the local news before showing the finale at midnight. MIDNIGHT!!). And being American, where it's okay for everyone to own guns so you can kill your neighbours and family when you go crazy, they bleep Eric Idle.
Meanwhile, CTV has managed to show the complete ceremony twice already.
Excellent tweet from Jon Wertheim during the closing ceremonies (he watched live, not tape-delayed):
"I'll tell you what I want, what I really, really, want: the next act"
