Re: 2012 FO MDbls, Jrs and Wheelchair Draws
Ok, probably no one cares but I just found out that Annika Beck's (#2 seed and in SF already) father is a chemist (professor of inorganic chemistry at university of Bonn) just like Roger's father (or me ).

Taylor Townsend couldn't defend her top seed losing to Anna Schmiedlova of Slovakia who has been on a tear this spring.
You can't show up in this shape and expect to play well on clay.

Anna Schmiedlova

When I was at the Aussie Open in '09, I stopped by the first set of Vergeer's championship match, where she promptly lost the first 4 games. I left to go watch the girls final and saw later that she won 6-4, 6-2. Good thing I didn't stay; I think I might be to Vergeer what the rest of TAT is to AMG!

Legends Doubles Final: Davenport/Hingis def. Navratilova/Novotna 6-4, 6-4.
Winning like it's 1998.

The crazy thing is that with Vergeer's record, this is barely noteworthy. (As in, Wiki says it's the 6th time she double-bagels someone in the final of a grand slam.)
