Scores through the end of the 3rd Round

The scores after the 3rd round follow an odd pattern that I can't say I've ever seen in this contest. There are 4! people tied for first with 34 points, which I don't think has ever happened even after a first round, much less a third round. After that there are 3 tied for 5th with 31.

Of the contestants in first, deelighted2 is probably in the best position right now, scoring the only double digit point total in the round and being the only one with more than 3 picks remaining.

Khethux also propelled himself up to the top of the scoreboard in the round, and Martini4me and patrick were able to do enough to stay there.

It should be interesting to see when and how this logjam sorts itself out.

    Good Luck All.

Also, I don't know if I'll be able to post a 4th round scoreboard as I'm going away for a couple days. I'll at least be able to get one in by the quarters though.

Tog will have the next round scores posted like they normally are, but for this latest round, the 1st number is your overall score, while the 2nd number is your score for this latest round. In parentheses are the players current picks left and their scoring value for each round.

Still a very close contest to call. Good luck to the top contenders!

Rats - I need Kerber to lose for my YCWJ, but I need her to win for my skan. Argh!

Scores through the end of the Quarterfinals

After the quarterfinals, the smoke has cleared and PeterSkan is on the inside track to his third YCWJ medal, and second at the French Open. He has 45 points, which is only a two-point lead over deelighted2, but I would say that lead is larger than it seems.

Three contestants are tied for third, but at this point, that’s not as important as the picks they all have left. Let’s explore the possible scenarios:

If Novak Djokovic loses or defeats Rafael Nadal in the men’s final, PeterSkan will win. Otherwise, he still has a chance, depending on what transpires.

If Roger Federer loses in the men’s final, either jkfriedman will win (if Sam Stosur beats Sara Errani), or deelighted2 will win (if Errani beats Stosur).

If David Ferrer loses in the men’s final, Khethux will win unless Stosur loses in the women’s final. In that case, PeterSkan will win.

If Rafael Nadal loses to Roger Federer in the men’s final and Errani beats Stosur, deelighted2 will win. If Stosur wins the championship, jkfriedman will win. If Stosur loses in the final, PeterSkan will win.

It’s great to see 4 contestants still in with a shot at this point. Good luck to all of you.

It looks like I'm out of the mix, but this is a great finish.

You're the only one of the top 5 who doesn't have a shot, sadly.

Scores through the end of the Semifinals

After the semifinals, PeterSkan has clinched his third YCWJ medal. He rode the wave of two picks that many contestants had, Eric Prodon and Kai-Chen Chang. He may or may not have picked an ultimate loser. That will be decided in the men's final.

Second and third haven't been decided yet, but Martini4me and Khethux hold those places, with 46 and 45 points respectively.

The other possible men's wooden spoon winner is, surprisingly, Alexandr Dolgopolov. Either Alize Cornet or Mona Barthel will take the women's last place trophy.

lol I prefer to imagine that the rest of the gang looked to my picks and followed suit. On the other hand, that paints me as being good at picking losers, so never mind

Thanks for the well wishes, folks. Much appreciated. But most of all thanks for continuing to run this contest. It is absolutely unique, and adds a great deal to the range of contests available here on TAT.
