Amazon ads holding up forum?

Is anyone noticing the Amazon Ads holding up the forum, causing pages to load slower?

Haven't noticed. But if you specify the dimensions of the ad object, that should allow the rest of the page to load and do layout, no?

I've been meaning to ask this about IMG's as well. Is there any way to set the height and width on IMG tags so the page won't keep readjusting as each image loads? Maybe it's not possible based on the way the database works here, I dunno, but it would be nice

It would be nice! That's irritating as all get out.

I've looked into that in the past, so far with no luck. We're a few versions past the last time I checked this out. Maybe something has changed. I'll take another look at it.

I think I've tried Amazon ads in the past but always end up removing them because sometimes their servers hang up.

I've noticed here quite a few times in the past few days that my browser will hang up while connecting to amazon.com.
