    Predictions : Australian Open

    This contest is temporarily closed to new participants. If you participated in the contest since January 1,2010 or you signed up on or before Saturday December 24,2011, you are eligible to participate.

    We have The Australian Open for the ATP singles, WTA singles and the doubles. For the men's doubles, women's doubles, and mixed doubles, you pick ONLY the winner of each event. So select the team you want from the drop-down menus.

    The brackets are posted below:

    Predictions will be due before start of play on Sunday at 11 AM local(7 PM USA EST - 4 PM PST USA on Saturday evening)

    Please make sure you use your exact TAT username and provide a valid email address for confirmation of your picks.

    Also, please be sure to check the "picks remaining" field at the bottom of the form to make sure you have completed all of the necessary picks.

    This is the first event for 2012 in the race for London(ATP) and Istanbul(WTA). As a remainder, points for all majors for ATP and WTA predictions are doubled so please pick before the deadline close.

    Yes. Comparatively, men's is very straight-forward, at least to the semis. Lots of head-scratcher matches on the women's side. (Clijsters-Li, anyone?) And so many of the top contenders have been just cruising through their matches, that you can't use form as any sort of tie-breaker.

    Exactly. Serena-Sharapova? And the winner against Kvitova? Li-Clijsters and then against Azarenka!

    It's hard to know what to do with a guy who has generally decimated his opponents in the tournament but has also announced he's not playing in February to let himself heal. Which I think was announced before the tournament even started, or shortly thereafter.

    If he manages to make the final, it all depends on who his opponent is. Anything non-Djokovic offers hope.

    And he could retire during Tuesday's match. There's just no way to gauge it.
