National Hockey League 2011-2012
Season starts today as Flyers play Bruins, Canadians play Maple Leafs and Penguins play Canucks.
Will the Bruins repeat? Will the Canucks go one step farther in 2011-2012? When will Crosby return to the ice for the Penguins?

What a classless performance by the Pens yesterday.

Appropriate we went from a post bragging about Philly to one about Pittsburgh.

Re: National Hockey League 2011-2012
After tomorrow there better be for the next week and a half
On a not quite NHL note...my hometown Halifax Mooseheads are in the Quebec League quarterfinals - they have come back from down 3-0 in the series and are in game 7 overtime now vs Patrick Roy's Quebec team. It's a battle of a probable top 5 draft pick this year (Mikhail Grigorenko of Quebec) and a possible #1 overall pick for the year after (Nathan MacKinnon of Halifax.) Wish it was on tv somewhere!
Edit - they win in overtime! Quite the comeback. The funny thing is there were 3 game 7's in the Quebec league tonight and all 3 road teams won...so Halifax actually will have home advantage next round.

Game 7 double overtime! Been a good first round and it won't end.
Who had St Louis, Nashville, Phoenix, LA as their final four in the West? Especially at the start of the year!

After Briere kicked in a goal which would have originally ended the game, he managed to score the winner with a one-timer with JVR blocking Brodeur's view.

Not surprised they are up 2-0. The most surprising thing in this series is the amount of goals that Rinne and Smith are giving up.

It was almost like you could feel the emotional sway here during that, Patrick. Elation on the goal, to huge disappointment on the overrule, to elation on the 2nd goal.
Good luck at Wimbledon, Kohli

Mhmm. At least the Coyotes actually got some shots on goal in the last game; they couldn't count on continuing to steal games while getting outshot by 20.
