    Re: The Hurricane Irene Thread

We actually ended up getting A LOT more of this storm than the Weather Channel was predicting. It wasn't bad. But we were only supposed to get clouds and perhaps some high winds. Instead, we got a fairly substantial amount of rain.

I was at the casino in Harrisburg last night, and at one point the lights went dim and all the slot machines turned off. That was a little scary. But it only lasted for a minute or so.

CNN showed a graphic with "markers" of all the rivers in the NE that are flooded. It was awe-inspiring.

I hope everyone in our TAT family is safe.

Been getting crazy winds here for hours - biggest this year by far. Had a huge vase knocked over by wind coming into the house which dumped water everywhere so we got our "flooding" too
    Thanks for the medal Johanna!

Collegeville (home of Ursinus College, hence the name) is the next town over from my town (right over a bridge). Sits right on the Perkiomen. Was hit very hard by the storm. No one can get through the main streets. These pics were taken by my friend Kathy who lives right up from the flooded area:

Yes, these are roads, not the river...

don't know how many of you have seen this video - this would be funny if I didn't feel so gross for the guy - then he says that it 'doesn't taste to good' and I couldn't stop laughing.

Apparently Vermont is experiencing its worst flooding in 83 years.

Across the street from my parents' house. Somehow, we didn't lose power, but our next door neighbors did.

It's hard out here for a Zuz.
