I remember something to that effect as well, shtexas. I also remember Bernard from New Order saying that "I Feel Love" was a huge influence on their music. Electronic music really came to be due to Donna and Giorgio Moroder (and Kraftwerk), and they rarely get the credit they deserve.

This took me by surprise too. I have nothing to add to what has already been said (I wasn't a big fan of disco) but Donna had a wonderful voice and I had hoped she'd move out of the genre.
"I Feel Love" was awesome.
RIP Donna.

Re: In Memoriam
Shocked here too.
My childhood best friend's mother was a huge Donna Summer fan, and she would play her songs all the time whenever I was over. Such fond memories.
My favourites were "Love to love you baby," "I Feel Love," and "On the Radio."

Good night, Mrs. Landingham.
Kathryn Joosten passed away today. She may be better known for her current role on Desperate Housewives, but for us West Wing fanatics, she will always be Mrs. Landingham.
I love that she got such good roles late in life and that she made the most of them.
RIP

Re: In Memoriam
I'm in shock - she was one of the reasons I kept watching Desperate Housewives - loved her on the West Wing.

Re: In Memoriam
Probably not well know except in the states, but...
Richard Dawson, the longtime "Family Feud" game-show host and "Hogan's Heroes" actor, has died in Los Angeles. He was 79.
His son, Gary Dawson, announced his death via Facebook.
"It is with a very heavy heart that I inform you that my father passed away [Saturday] evening from complications due to esophageal cancer. He was surrounded by his family. He was an amazing talent, a loving husband, a great dad and a doting grandfather. He will be missed but always remembered," Gary Dawson wrote.

Re: In Memoriam
You beat me to the punch on Dawson, Kirk.
My personal face was his seasons on Match Game. His puns and double entendres were wonderful. I remember seeing Brett Sommers on an interview once where she said they often drank before tapings.
May he rest in peace.
