    Any chance this ruling is just throwing a bone to the Administration in preparation for a negative ruling on the individual mandate? Real question: To what degree does the SCOTUS play politics in its decisions?

    I don't think this court, or any Supreme Court, would even think about softening the blow of any upcoming decision. I believe this an extremely political, activist court. I just don't see them giving a crap what people think about their decisions.

    I like to think the right-leaners did what they did because they believed it was the constitutional thing to do.

    Of course I still think Andy Roddick has another slam in him, so...
