    So, was it a rat?
    The last e-mail I sent to them explained that I had contacted the main contractor for confirmation of the charges they (my contractor) claimed.
    So they returned my mail saying they were sorry, it had been a misunderstanding because the main company pays THEM 50% for the travel days and they have, in the past, absorbed that expense. They won't charge me anything.

    BUUUUUUUUUUUULL sh... !

    In the meantime, I am their sole specialist in that area. They lose me, they have nobody else to bid.

    Sounds like you're in a pretty good position.

    You're probably going to have to agree to the 50% going forward but "Sorry, we have to stick to the bilaterally signed contract for this one" sounds like a pretty comfortable post to take for you.
