    Re: ATP Standout Seasons

My observation about Vilas' 1977 season in response to the posted list:

Wow! What a great year for Vilas. 145 wins - no one else's Big Year win total on K's list comes close. And 17 titles, including 2 slams and a finalist on a 3rd. Man!!! A cinch to finish the year at #1.

Just like all of the Big Year Player's on K's list before 1977:

    1932 Ellsworth Vines.
    1933 Jack Crawford
    1938 Don Budge
    1955 Tony Trabert
    1962 Rod Laver
    1964 Roy Emerson
    1969 Rod Laver.
    1973 Ilie Nastase
    1974 Jimmy Connors

oops - sorry - that honour went to Dzeemie Connors. After all, he won ZERO slams that year. But what the heck - he made two finals, including his beloved US Open.

Now who exactly was it who bagelled him in the final set that year??

    Guess!

    germande's observation about Laver's dominance:

It may be interesting, that Laver had many more years with 10 or more singles titles won.
    1961 13
    1962 21 (19)
    1965 15
    1966 10
    1967 18
    1968 11
    1969 18 (17)
    1970 13
