Women's Day 7 (Sun) Aus Open SP Pick

Welcome to Day 7, and the 4th Round of the TAT 6th Annual Australian Open Women’s Suicide Pool. Today, your pick will come from the bottom half of the draw for the Round of 16.

Now is when things start to get tough! Hope you have been saving the players to get your through the rest of the draw.

Again, you will be making one pick EACH DAY of the women’s event (NOT one each round), and once you use a player, you can never use her again. There is a “picks and results thread” posted so you can check the choices you have already made.

It is very important you follow the schedule of play for the day posted below. Only half of the draw plays Saturday.

Post your Day 7 pick by replying IN THIS THREAD. Your pick must be in before the start of play for the day in Melbourne, rain or shine. For day 7, that’s Sunday, 11:00 AM in AUSTRALIA. For those in the US, that is Saturday 7:00 PM EST. Please do not be late, as we hate making those hard decisions, but we will. This thread will be locked at the deadline, so please don't wait until the last minute or you may find it locked when you hit "post."

If you change your mind after you make your pick, and before the deadline, please make a second post advising us of your change - PLEASE DO NOT make your change in your original post, as we often go through the posts before closing to begin the task of updating the picks and results, and we might miss a change if you edit your original pick.

You might want to scout your player and make sure there is not a known injury or illness issue.

    Good luck!

Sunday’s Order of Play consists of the four 4rd round matches from the BOTTOM half of the women’s draw:

Justine Henin BEL (W) vs. Yanina Wickmayer BEL (Q)
Nadia Petrova RUS (19) vs. Svetlana Kuznetsova RUS (3)

Alona Bondarenko UKR (31) vs. Jie Zheng CHN
Maria Kirilenko RUS vs. Dinara Safina RUS (2)

    Let me be first...

I would like to postpone choosing between Sveta and Justine and I am convinced Dinara will reach at least semi finals. Thus my only choice is to correctly predict Zheng vs Bondarenko (I have both available). After much deliberation I've decided on Alona.

    Getting ready to be Bondarenkoed...

Our only chance is that there will be more Zheng pickers and Alona will decide to Bondarenko them instead.

Geez, this is a disaster. I guess I'm going to go with Alona Bondarenko. I guess.

I'm going to go against the grain and pick

    Jie Zheng.

If it doesn't work out... there's always paris.

Changing my pick to Jie Zheng. I just don't want to be Bondarenkoed...

    Day 1: Rezai
    Day 2: Hantuchova
    Day 3: Petrova
    Day 4: Peer
    Day 5: Wickmayer
    Day 6: Stosur
    Day 7: Kuznetsova

Hope Petrova partied too much after that win against Kim and Kuznetsova not tired after 3 sets in both singles and doubles.
