Re: Ladies' Picks and Results Thread - Wimbledon

at least another 75 knocked out today, with Alona threatened to take the number over 100. I'm trying to think if we ever had back to back knockouts in excess of 100 players, and I don't htink we have, though I'm wondering about the French. Have to go check.

EDIT: Nope, we only lost 80 on Day 1 of the French. SO if Alona goes down, we could set another record.

I only did a quick count - it was 99 casualties for the day. I'm sooo hoping I missed one.... the thought of back-to-back 100+ fantasy deaths is so exciting!

Have we ever needed an Updated P&R Thread after 2 days before?

I was out Day 1. I decided to play on my own for Day 2, and I'm out again.

    At least, I'm consistent.

Re: Ladies' Picks and Results Thread - Wimbledon

Sorry this is a little truncated!

Kleybanova 32 - I've never heard of her opponent before this tournament, but time and time again I've learned that that doesn't mean a darn thing.

Pavlyuchenkova 29 - I wouldn't think Vinci should trouble her. Of course, I hadn't picked her to win her first match, so...

Razzano 17 - Virginie was impressive in her first round (though the Paszeks were injured). Can she depose the matriarch of the WTA?

Sugiyama 17 - Defeated a lousy grass court player in Schnyder and now gets Parra Santonja. Should be just as easy. Don't tell Tammy T that, though.

    Azarenka 6 - Okay.

Bartoli 6 - Is 12-0 in games this tournament. That means she'll retire in this match.

No Pick 6 - An excellent decision given the current draw.

Petrova 4 - Already up on Peer

Sharapova 4 - Already down to Dulko. For now.

Cibulkova 2 - She's ahead, though she's let Radwanska the Lesser back in.

Cirstea 1 - How well will Mirza keep playing?

Dementieva 1 - Tough opponent in Rezai, who did just as well as Elena at Roland Garros.

    Peer 1 - Almost done.

Zvonareva 1 - A 6-4 in the third win against Georgie Stoop doesn't instill a whole lot of confidence.
    I'll miss you!

The Cibulkova and Petrova pickers are through, which means the lone Peer picker is out...

Pavlyuchenkova down a set, 5-4 in the 2nd, on serve.

And the 2nd largest bandwagon of the day goes down! Kleybanova up a set, 1-2 on serve.

Best case scenario is about 85 people remaining alive going in to Day 4 in the womens game. That means we've lost over 75% of the players in only 3 days.
