GA 2009 - The Strawberry Lounge

Every TAT FT competition has a place to hangout, a place to discuss how the day went, how your team is doing, to complain about the weather and to theorize about what might happen next. Green Acres has it's very own, slightly Wimbledon-themed, Strawberry Lounge. Take a seat, have a drink, and sing along to...

The Green Acres theme song! (Courtesy of GVGirl)

(to the tune of the Green Acres television show intro)

Green Acres is the place to be
    Grass tournaments love captain Wasabi
Rafa cannot move that far and wide
Save the red clay for him to slide!

Grass tournaments are here to stay
    Roger's favorite surface to play
Give me that Wimby Trophy to view
    Roger will win another few.

    Wimbledon...the Grass
London you'll spend too much cash
    Fresh Air...the square

    It's all too short
    Then it's on to hardcourts

Green Acres tennis we are there!

I think Moose and I also wrote a song for Green Acres to the tune of "Lady Marmalade" I need to find that thing and post it here.

Found them from 2007! My version:

(God help me, I’m a nut)
To the tune of Lady Marmalade

    Hey Halle, go Birmingham
    Go Queens, go Eastbourne
    Hey Nottignham, go 's-Hertogenbosch,
    Go Wimby, go wimby.

We meet the grass court season here in old England
Wimbledon struts it’s stuff on the street.
Hey Federer, we know you’ll give it another go

getchie getchie your grass courts on
getchie getchie your practice for Wimbledon on
mocha choka Green Acres Fantasy Ya ya
    Get ready for British Marmalade!

    Moose's version:

He met Marmalade at the All England Club
Struttin her stuff on the court
    She said "Hello Robredo,
you wanna give it a go...uh uh"

    getchie getchie Younes El Aynaoui
    getchie getchie Ai Ai Sugi
    mocha Udomchoke ya ya
    Creole Lady Marmalade

    Sorry, carry on...

Alright, first contest I'm going to enter - mainly to see what the fuss is about. And I know if I don't enter a team, I'd just not be bothered to follow it closely enough to actually learn something.

    Yet to find out:
    - wtf is ADAM? got a theory, but I need to read around some more
    - has Del Potro entered an event before Wimbledon?

    I'll take this one Dry.

These contests give out medals. And a certain, ahem, member, is a medal hoarding person that would have you go without. I created such organization to fight for the medal-less and to promote medal equality for all TAT members. You can join at any time, all you have to do is add ADAM to your signature.

This of course is all done in good spirit.

PS: whatever you do, make sure to NEVER, EVER, believe a word from Sauron. (he will reveal himself in due time)
Meet again we do, old foe...

bunch of nuts, so much is clear.
    I could fit right in.

I'll see how much I suck in this. Haven't payed any attention to WTA since Justine retired (earlier this year I had no clue who was #1 nuff said).

I'm actually all diligent with doing research about the rankings and entered tournaments.
Anything to not work . Checking out past performances on grass might be too much though, not that interested in lower regions of WTA yet.

We recommend that you put the Bondarenkos on your team.
