The sanction for the Indianapolis event has been sold back to the ATP tour, tournament officials announced today. However, the Indianapolis Business Journal reports that USTA is negotiating with the ATP to have the sanction sold to Atlanta as originally expected.
"Atlanta is ready, willing and able to host the event in 2010," USTA spokesperson Tim Curry told the paper. "Now that the ATP has ownership of the event, we’re hoping to get this deal done and have an announcement made by the first quarter."

Saw this on the yahoo homepage:
Andy Murray gets dumped for playing too many video games
By Chris Chase
Like another famous athlete, British tennis star Andy Murray has been having relationship problems of late. Unlike Tiger Woods, Murray hasn't been spending too much time with other women, however. He's been spending too much time on his Playstation. Murray, the No. 4 ranked player in the world, was dumped by his long-time girlfriend Kim Sears due, in part, to the fact that he spent up to seven hours a day playing video games.
The Telegraph reports:
Sources close to Sears said one of the causes [of the breakup] was the world number four's long hours playing video tennis and PlayStation 3 games such as the best selling Call of Duty sequel.
Brad Gilbert, Murray's former coach, has said in the past that Murray spends "seven hours a day" playing video games.
The source told The Sun: "He would spend all his time glued to them. In the end she just got fed up with it. She wanted more out of the relationship."
The Rest is here:

I'm fairly certain there are bigger reasons why she dumped him, but I can't stop laughing reading this.

According to this article (http://espndeportes.espn.go.com/news...ten&type=story), Del Potro got mugged by a group of gangsters in the locker room at Rosario, where he went to play an exho with Fernando Gonzalez. Del Potro had to hand over his racket and some money, and he has said he'll never return to Rosario again.
(I wonder why Drop-shot was so eager to mention he would be away from Rosario that day )

Geez, couldn't they show some national pride and rob Gonzalez instead?

I completely forgot to post this.
The exho was played at one of the city's football club's facilities. After the match, a group of hooligans (and not your british-tamed-version) from the football team (Newell's Old Boys) went to the locker room and "asked" for a contribution. He gave them his shirt or something like that to get out of the heat. The organizers ended up paying them so they would leave.

You'd first have to explain the concept of "pride" to the orcs hooligans -for a diplomatic term.

Poor DelPo! But doesn't sound like this situation is as bad as getting mugged on the streets of NYC
You haven't seen them. they'd be willing to stab you for just looking at them the wrong way.
And yes, they were paid assumingly.

From http://www.nypost.com/p/pagesix/smok...9oQ9RVE9qIlEWK (via bea's twitter):
Tennis ace John McEnroe and rocker wife Patty Smyth raised eyebrows during a dinner hosted by Vito Schnabel for the "Happy Endings" exhibit at the W Hotel in Miami. The couple surprised diners, including artist Terence Koh, actor Stephen Dorff and Jann Wenner's son Theo Wenner, by passing around what looked like a spliff during a discussion on marijuana reform. "They were talking about grass reforms and the next thing you know they were lighting up," laughs an attendee. "No one seemed to mind, though."
I guess JMac wanted to reaffirm his status after Agassi's book.
