I'm so miffed that I'm out of the pool because Srebotnik, I thought, was the easy choice today. Going into today, Meusburger had only won one game against Srebotnik in two meetings in the past year. You don't get many sure bets in this game, but that sure looked like as much of a sure bet as it gets.

I forgot that I had picked Bartoli. I came to this thread to see who I picked and said "Oh god." I guess you can do crazy things when you're tired. At least that's what my tattoo says.

Re: Womens USOSP: Picks and Results Thread

We come to the end of day 3 with over 2/3 of our starting players allready eliminated. From a beginning number of 268 players, we are now down to 86.

Only 3 picks lost today...Schiavone, Zvonareva and Paszek. But those three took out 30 players today.

Can we keep it above 50 by the end of the 2nd round of the Open? Tune in tomorrow. And watch out for the #1 pick of the day, because for the last two days they have lost.

by my quick calculations, only 43 people still alive in both pools after three days. yikes.

for a change, I'm one of them. I've never made the weekend in both pools ... here's hoping.

Re: Womens USOSP: Picks and Results Thread

85 players enter Day 4/2nd half of 2nd round.

Again, no one dominant bandwagon, but a lot of love today for Cibulkova, today's leading pick with 17. Other large selections today...

    13: Radwanska
    11: Vaidisova
    9: Groenefeld
    8: Szavay

Also have Mauresmo, Petrova, Alona Bondarenko, Cornet, Ivnovic (?) and Bacsinszky in play today.

Your next update will be coming from NYNY, as I am about to hit the road to New York, and the Open.
