Re: Battle of the Boards Bracket Contest
I can't decide what to make of Nalbandian. There's a shocker. Anyway, what I mean is that I don't know if he'll scratch and claw to get his form up to par, or if, when he gets down in a match, he'll just throw in the towel and say, "Screw it. I got Davis Cup to worry about."
There's also the factor of the points he's defending. You'd think he'd be motivated. Unfortunately, Nalbandian is, well, Nalbandian.

If there was anyway to attach a beer to the ball, I'm sure Nalby could be motivated that way.

Re: Battle of the Boards Bracket Contest
I have the opptomistic pick of Nadal over Fed. with the top four all making the semis, and Simon in the quarters of course

Murray, Del P, and Nalby are all due a bad loss, and they're in the same quarter. Whoever survives that quarter, potentially then gets Nadal and Fed in the semi and final.
Not sure here. Didn't exactly put up a fight in Madrid.
He's one-week-on/one-week-off again this year, only that he's doing it in the lesser evens.

Ditto. And I agree with the IF for Novak...he's not in my final four. Can't remember if I even picked him for the quarters now.

Re: Battle of the Boards Bracket Contest
I went with Roger over Rafa this time. JMDP and Tsonga as losing semi finalists.
Three straight titles would be just a bit too much asked for Murray.
Roger and his 17 GS titles

Re: Battle of the Boards Bracket Contest
Just a quick note to say that everyone will get a point for the Q v Q match once it has been played and if you have picked your winner of that match to win in R2 as well, then if the Qv Q winner wins in R2, you will score for that match too, and so on.
This is unlikely to make the Paris AMS pick 'em much less of a lottery, but for all the other matches there is some skill involved, e.g. guessing whether a player in a known player v Q match is likely to win or lose against the average qualifier and using your detailed knowledge of player psychology to guess any players who might withdraw after the deadline (LOL!), whereas for the Qv Q match, there is no info to go on at all, hence the decision to make it count as a win for everyone.

I have the same semis-final, but I had Simon losing to Mathieu and Nalbandian to Kiefer, which I already don´t feel so good about. Wish I had been making the picks after the Basel final

All of the detailed results, picks, etc pages are now up at http://www.britishtennis.net/Competitions.html - I'll add qualifiers/LLs in as appropriate overnight, they haven't been put in the draw on the ATP site yet.
